Step-by-Step Guide: How to Make a Number Cake

Step 1: Print and Prepare Your Template

Choose the number template you need, download it, and print it on sturdy paper. Cut out the template carefully and set it aside.

Step 2: Bake Your Cake

Bake your favourite cake in a tray or cake tin. All of our 11” tall number templates fit inside a 12” square cake tin.  Once it’s completely cool, place the printed template on top and cut around it with a sharp knife to achieve the perfect number shape.

Step 3: Layer and Assemble Your Cake

If you’d like a layered cake, ensure you split the cake batter between 2 cake tins or use one large rectangle cake pan (as per recipe instructions) repeat the cutting process and add a layer of buttercream, cream or ganache as well as any extra fillings you might like to use such as a curd, jam or freeze dried fruits between the layers to hold them together. Step 4: Decorate Your Number Cake

Now for the fun part! Use a piping bag with icing nozzle to add buttercream or ganache in neat dollops or swirls. Add your favourite decorations to match your event theme.
